PFA, Bhubaneswar and the popular FM Radio Channel RED FM got together just before the 2016 Diwali festival to campaign for sensitivity towards the plight of animals during Diwali. Today’s high decibel crackers burst during Diwali creates tremendous stress for animals who are highly sensitive to sound, causing death in many cases. Dogs are affected the most but so also are birds and they have no place to hide, even as they try. The message we wanted to get out was that Diwali is a festival of lights and we can all celebrate Diwali while having empathy for all living beings.
The campaign was named “YEH DIWALI INSAANO WALI” and was dedicated towards dogs. The aim was to request people to not to use crackers on the day of Diwali and the dialogue was centered around “PROTEST CRACKERS PROTECT ANIMALS”.
